The Ayuntamiento de Comillas has announced the program for the 16th edition of the Día del Indiano, which will take place on August 29 and 30. The event will feature a wide range of activities, including dance performances, talks, Latin rhythm workshops, a themed street parade with theatrical elements, a habaneras recital by the local choir Brumas Norteñas, the now traditional colonial market, and La Gauditeca, a 19th-century toy and game workshop hosted by El Capricho de Gaudí.
Until September 15, the collection of historical fashion costumes by designer Vera Simons will be on display in the glass gallery of the Old Town Hall, located in Plaza de la Constitución.
The event is organized by the Ayuntamiento de Comillas and the Asociación de Indianos, with sponsorship from the Gobierno de Cantabria through the Consejería de Cultura, Turismo y Deporte, Cantabria Infinita, Parque de la Naturaleza de Cabárceno, and the collaboration of various cultural and business entities in the municipality.
